As appears in the properly alleged facts in the Complaint, non-residents codefendants had significant contacts with the forum insofar as the approaches made to plaintiffs, the offering of the product, the negotiations for the acquisition of the asphalt were carried out in Puerto Rico, the approach to acquire the Coco Beach Complex in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, inspection, conversations, and related representations were made in Puerto Rico, through agents and representatives in Puerto Rico who did business on their behalf and for them, the wire transfers for the payment of asphalt originated form Banco Popular de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the asphalt would be delivered in Puerto Rico and codefendants sent e-mails and other documents to plaintiff to their address in Puerto Rico. The above circumstances establish minimum contacts of non-resident defendants with Puerto Rico who have clearly benefited from this jurisdiction, directing their efforts towards this jurisdiction and benefiting therefrom. This makes Rule 3.1(a)(2) of Civil Procedure of Puerto Rico, 32 App. V, Rule 3.1(a)(2), also known as the “long arm statute”, applicable tot them.
